you and i
you and i, here together - how in heaven did i get lucky as a star,
when i was born to be alone?
you and i – all the world should start in wonder at how this miracle occurred
‘cause i was born to be alone
time has a cruel hand - it can whip a breeze to a storm
we’ve seen it for ourselves
and if anyone should ask me how we made it here as one
then i’d sing it to the world, and say
it’s not a fairytale or a magic carpet ride
no it’s just you and i
you and i, here together – how could anyone see this coming from afar
even if opposites attract?
you and i – everyone should start in wonder at how this miracle occurred
because they face us as a fact
time has a cruel hand - it can whip a breeze to a storm
we’ve seen it for ourselves
and if anyone should ask me how we rode the storms we've seen
well i’d sing it to the world, and say
it's not a lucky charm, or an angel in the sky
no it’s just you and i
breezes blow softly then grow wild and frosty
that storm can hurl you like a ball
and if anyone should ask me how we made it here as one
then I’d sing it to the world, and say
it’s not a fairytale or a magic carpet ride
no it’s just you and i
