when the lion roars

i know a lion who lies in the light

he knows what is wrong, he knows what is right

nobody's fool, the coolest of cats

it takes a gentle giant just to know where it's at

when all the world is worried and grey

and some forget what to do and to say

prepare your eyes for the rise of a king

to show the shabby creatures what a lion can bring

a little bit kinder, a little bit cleaner

a little bit brighter, a little bit sweeter

a shining sun through your windows and doors

when the lion roars

some cats are cold, they kill on the run

too aloof to love anyone

some cats are mean, as keen as a knife

you never saw a better claw for ending a life

see how they hide, and huddle in shame

as leo awakes with a shake of the mane

a lion's roar is a glorious sound

from the greatest heart the changes start to spread all around

a little bit kinder, a little bit cleaner

a little bit brighter, a little bit sweeter

there's joy in the mountains, the forest and moors

when the lion roars

a million cats will come and go

many will leave with little to show

they fade to black as your flag's unfurled

they're blown aside as lion's pride is making the world

a little bit kinder, a little bit cleaner

a little bit brighter, a little bit sweeter

the warmest tide washing in to your shores

when the lion roars

a bit kinder, a bit cleaner

a bit brighter, and sweeter

the pleasure is mine and the treasure is yours

when the lion roars

a little bit kinder, a little bit cleaner

a little bit brighter, a little bit sweeter

the love is unending, like honey it pours

when the lion roars
